the skinny

details on the whole thing are kinda sketchy right now, as we're working through ideas on what to do, so stay tuned.

Here's what we have so far:

save the date - 1st weekend in April. It is a two-day event. (Actually, it's more than that, as prep work and follow-up will take up a couple days before and after. You may want to consider these days, as the crowds will be smaller and the activities more diverse.)

purpose - an agrarian exhibition: We're starting a new section of vineyard and planting 1200 each Barbera and Petit Verdot grape vines. Attendees will receive background information and training on how to plant these vines, then released to the field with their vines. Many hands make light work, and we expect teams of planters to quickly fill the field.

sustenance - This is, by far, the largest section of vineyard we've installed to date. It's wonderful to see this thing grow. We'll celebrate the good efforts we do these days with food and drink and music and more.

ideas to flesh out -
roast a pig to feed us
tee shirts for everyone
sleeping accommodation so you can stay overnight
refreshments (they say making wine is 90% moving things and 10% drinking beer)
and more...

so stay tuned as we refine our premiere event!

  1. I received a suggestion that we offer a bottle of our own wine as a thank you to each adult participant. Can we do that?
